Sunrise UMC has participated in the Appalachia Service Project (ASP) ministry for over 15 years. ASP is a youth based summer ministry with adult helpers that does home repairs for families in the Appalachia areas of North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky. Sunrise has volunteered in all of these areas. In the last few years, we have concentrated on helping in North Carolina.
ASP helps make homes warmer, safer, and dryer. It is a week of volunteering work, your ministry and making lifetime memories. We usually volunteer the 3rd week of July.
