Sunrise UMC supports the USO of NC RDU with a special offering every September, Soup for Troops, and prayers for the work they do in honor of the men and women who give so much for our freedoms. The USO recognizes the sacrifices our troops and their families make for us and our country. The USO of NC offers a variety of programs and services to support our military and their families: homecoming and deployment support, food pantry for times of need, Honor Support Team (a unique service of the USO of NC that supports the families of our fallen heroes during a very stressful time), and a variety of other programs to support their morale, health and human services.
The RDU Center is open 24/7 365 days a year. The USO at RDU features:
- Computers with high-speed Internet access
- Kitchenette
- Complimentary snacks and beverages
- Large screen televisions
- Overstuffed recliners and comfortable seating areas
- Changing room
- Children’s play area
