Holly Springs Food Cupboard
In addition to being a community drop-off site for food donations for the HSFC, we partner with them by sponsoring their peanut butter shelf. The HSFC gives 240 jars of peanut butter away every week and we aim to provide every single jar they need, week in and week out. In 2025, we donated 12,567 jars total, surpassing our goal of 12,480.
eXpand
Formerly called Read and Feed, this non-profit connects children with adult volunteers for regular tutoring sessions on weeknights. Several times a year, Sunrise provides and serves dinner to tutors and students.
Rise Against Hunger
Each spring, we spend a Saturday morning packing up 10,000 meals in shippable packages. These family-friendly meal packing events are an annual favorite that allows our reach to extend across the world.
Appalachia Service Project
Teams of youth and adults travel every summer to rural areas in the Appalachia region to build and repair homes for a week.
Steppin’ Out Dance
Every spring, Sunrise hosts a prom for young adults with special needs. This tradition has become a favorite for the participants and Sunrise community alike.
American Red Cross
Twice a year, every January and June, we host the Red Cross for a blood drive in our sanctuary to contribute to the constant need for blood donations.
Project Agape
In partnership with United Methodists across North Carolina, we pack 100+ Christmas shoeboxes full of gifts and necessities for impoverished children in Armenia, as well as an annual financial contribution.
Angel Tree
Sunrise collects gifts of toys, books, art supplies, sports equipment, and bicycles that will fill out the New Horizons Christmas Store, where parents can shop for their children at no cost to them.
Warmth for Wake
When the temperature drops, Sunrise gets to work to ensure our neighbors stay warm. Every other week, we work with Warmth For Wake, an outreach program that provides free deliveries of firewood to homes that can use it to offset their gas or electric consumption.
Financial Giving
We offer a portion of our annual budget to organizations like UMCOR, Neighbor Up, Methodist Home for Children, and the Central Appalachian Mission Conference. Additionally, we contribute to the six Wesley Foundations in our conference: NCSU, UNC, Duke, NCCU, ECU, and UNCP. Your gifts to Sunrise help fund these missions, locally and globally.
