Each year, Sunrise sponsors a missionary that has been recommended by the NC Conference of the United Methodist Church. At the beginning of the year, the Missions committee reviews and discusses potential candidates, and then selects the missionary that we feel most strongly led to support. We make a significant contribution through the Missions budget, thanks to your generous giving! This donation helps to fund this missionary’s work in the name of Jesus Christ, which touches the lives of many people.

2018 – we are supporting Mike and Holly Winn of the Cru Military Ministry in San Antonio TX. Cru conducts ministry operations for US military both here and abroad to help service men and women grow in their faith. 2018 – we are also supporting Mark and Kenzi Fogleman, who are missionaries in Kenya with TMS Global. The Fogleman’s are currently raising funds to open a café, which will partner with the children’s home in Nyahururu Kenya. The café will provide necessary work experience for the children, and its income will be used for financial support for the children’s home. The Fogleman family visited Sunrise in May 2018 and shared their story with us, including this exciting video on the life-changing Magomano Water Project!
