It’s that time of year again! Our floors will be cleaned and waxed from August 18th – 21st. Our building will be inaccessible during these workdays, so please plan accordingly. We look forward to showing off our squeaky clean space just in time for the new semester!
Both our Children and Youth Sunday School programs resume their regular schedule after their summer breaks on August 23rd at 10am. Emergency preparedness is vital to maintaining safe, welcoming church activities. If you would like to take part in this CPR training (perhaps you work with children or youth at church?), email bhopper@mysunrise.org and mark your calendar for the morning of Friday, August 28th. We’ll send the details of the training to you individually.
Youth is back! Our first meeting will be Sunday, August 30th from 5-7pm when we’ll discuss our plans for this semester. Following this first meeting for the new school year, we’ll continue to meet most Sunday evenings from 5-7pm. Students from 6th to 12th grade gather for games, study, discussion, dinner, and prayer. Our Women’s Ministry is headed back to Virginia! September 11-13, we’ll have a weekend filled with faith, fellowship and fun at Camp Dickenson in Fries, VA. Registration is closed for this retreat, but we’ll surely plan another one for 2027!
For September, the men’s breakfast will be on Saturday, September 12th at 8:30am. All men are invited to attend and enjoy some time together, a hot meal, and prayerful discussion.

A chance for Sunrise to host hundreds of community families for a festive afternoon, Trunk or Treat is one of our best attended and most loved events throughout the year. No registration necessary!
The Seventh Annual Brunswick Stew Sale is set for Saturday, October 24th. Our Men’s Ministry will prepare quarts for sale, so keep an eye out for the pre-order link to come!
