Project Sunshine Kit Packing

The Missions Team has been busy finding engaging, valuable, fun opportunities to serve our neighbors; introducing Project Sunshine!

Project Sunshine is an international, volunteer-led program built to meet the needs of pediatric patients and their families in a variety of medical settings and under a variety of conditions. Part of their work involves bringing age-appropriate kits to hospitalized children filled with games, crafts, and encouraging notes. On September 24th, Sunrise has the opportunity to pack 200 of these kits for 200 brave kids!

In the same pattern as our Rise Against Hunger meal packing events, we invite you to gather in the sanctuary on Saturday 9/24 at 10am ready to work. Because the recipients of these kits are sick in the hospital, sanitation is of the utmost importance; we’ll be wearing masks and gloves for the duration of this event. It should take around 90 minutes to assemble all 200 kits, so register here

Also in similar fashion to Rise Against Hunger, this event is not free. Sunrise has budgeted to pay for the supplies we’ll need to pack these kits, but we encourage you to consider donating to their efforts

Let’s join Project Sunshine in bringing joy and play to pediatric patients.
