Want to channel your inner lumberjack? Here’s your chance! When the weather starts getting colder, we get to work to ensure our neighbors stay warm by partnering with Warmth For Wake. W4W is an outreach program that provides free deliveries of firewood to homes that can use it to offset their gas or electric consumption. Weather permitting, we have scheduled workdays every first and third Saturday from October through March at the 8626 Manns Loop Rd, Apex lumberyard, from 8:30-10:30am.

On our workdays, most of our time is spent splitting downed trees and hauling the wood. For that, all you need is a willing heart and a pair of gloves! After that, we can deliver the wood to local residents in need. Typically we deliver about 8 loads/month or 40-50 loads per season, so we especially appreciate volunteers with pick-up trucks who are willing to haul/deliver wood.
