IMPENDING WEATHER CLOSURE!
SUNRISE PRESCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH DUE TO THE IMPENDING STORM. We will follow WCPSS for Thursday. Once WCPSS makes a call, Sunrise Preschool will let everyone know our plan. As a reminder, if WCPSS closes on Thursday, we will be closed. If WCPSS is on an hour delay, we will open at 10 am. If WCPSS is on a 2-3 hour delay, Sunrise Preschool will be closed, per our handbook policies.
REGISTRATION FOR THE UPCOMING 2025/26 SCHOOL YEAR
Our community registration will be held on Wednesday, January 29th at 10 am. Please come with your papers filled out and your $200 registration fee, which guarantees the spot for your child and buys supplies for the 2025/26 school year.
Registration is lottery style which means your paperwork is placed in a box with everyone else that is interested in a certain age group. Papers are mixed up and then randomly drawn. Drawing starts at 10 am. Once placed in a class, the registration fee is collected. Process takes about 10 minutes.

Our Mission
Sunrise UMC Preschool’s fundamental philosophy is to make sure we partner with our students’ most valuable asset – their parent(s)/guardian(s), to ensure the best learning and operating environment. Our goal is to provide an optimal learning environment that enables children to grow and learn according to their unique learning styles. Our staff is expected to provide a quality learning environment where activities meet the physical, mental, social, emotional, and spriritual needs of the children.
Sunrise UMC Preschool is a play based program revolving around Christian teachings, theme based activities, kindergarten readiness skills, imagination through play, and creativity through arts and crafts, physical exercise, speaking, and listening.
We will be using a combination of Letterland and Handwriting Without Tears for our 4-year olds. Handwriting without Tears is just as it sounds – learning to write letters and numbers in the least frustrating way possible. Please see the below link for more information on this program.

We also want to emphasize our commitment to teaching Christian values for the children enrolled in our preschool through Bible stories, songs, prayer and chapel time each week
Each class has 8 children and 2 teachers.
Why We Are Unique
We are one of two church-based preschool program in Holly Springs so that caregivers can stay close to home, if they choose to do so, while their child is in preschool. If you decide to run errands or make appointments that take you out of Holly Springs then you have an extra half hour (3 1/2 hours total as opposed to the typical 3 hour program) to get back for pick-up in plenty of time! Carpool drop-off and pick-up is available to all students.
Private Messaging System
For Current families, we use Class Dojo as our messaging system. Once enrolled, you will receive an invite to join our Class Dojo. Once a member, you can have access to your child’s teacher, classroom, school calendar, etc.
