Coronavirus response and a life-based ethic

Revision: August 1, 2022

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunrise has operated from a life-based ethic – that is, our practices as a congregation have been guided by our desire to preserve and protect life in all that we do and the desire to place the needs of those most vulnerable at the center of our decision-making process.  We continue to follow the public health guidance of NC Dept. of Health, and the leadership of the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church coronavirus response team.

We are grateful that vaccine eligibility has expanded to people of all ages. We encourage all
persons to consult with their physician and their children’s physicians about vaccination. We continue to encourage all eligible persons to be vaccinated for COVID-19.  Likewise, we ask persons who are sick to remain home and tune into our services and classes via our Facebook page, YouTube Channel, and Zoom.

Masks are optional throughout our facility, and we will revise guidance as necessary.  Updates will be shared through the church newsletter and here on our church website.
