The Traditional Director of Music will play a vital role in the worship life of Sunrise UMC,
leading our “traditional/liturgical” worship service, handbell choir, and developing a choir. This person will work in conjunction with the Contemporary Director of Music in collaborating and/or assisting the “contemporary praise” worship service.
Our Preschool is searching for enthusiastic and qualified candidates to join our preschool staff for the 2025-2026 school year! We are a half day program, running from 9 am – 12:30pm. We follow the WCPSS traditional calendar, starting the week before Labor Day and ending the last week of May. Position begins immediately.
As an employee of Sunrise Preschool in Holly Springs, you will help young minds learn about God as well as learning social skills, language skills, respect and obedience.
Current openings:
Lead Teacher- Two’s (Mon/Wed/Fri) The Lead Teacher in our 2 year olds class will manage a classroom of 8 students, with the help of an assistant. Responsibilities include lesson planning, parent communication, classroom management, and overall supervision of the class’ school day.
Assistant Teacher- Two’s (Tues/Thurs) Works alongside the lead teacher to guide and instruct a classroom of 8 students.
Music Teacher- All ages (Wed/Thurs) Provides music and movement sessions for each class, children ages 2 to 5. Responsibilities include creating music focused lesson plans, group management, and collaboration with other teaching staff. Applicant should have some music background, interest, or ability.
Desired skills and experience:
- Experience as a teacher in an early childhood setting.
- Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
- Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years are older
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, degree in early childhood education preferred.
- Must be able to pass CPR certification – school will pay for certification
